National Educator Workshop 2005
June 27 - July 1

This summer, join teachers, principals, teaching artists, arts administrators, and superintendents from across the country and around the world for five days of artistic and educational discovery.

The LCI approach prepares educators to explore the arts with their students through an experiential approach, called aesthetic education, that supports broader educational understanding across the curriculum. By engaging students in ongoing reflection, inquiry, and research, the practice of aesthetic education supports all areas of learning, builds critical thinking, and stimulates the perceptual abilities of young learners. This method demonstrates the integral role that the arts can and should have in the world of education. It is at the core of the educational philosophy and practice of the three organizations represented here.
